摘要: Cutaneous melanomas arise on all skin surfaces, but they do so at markedly different rates. Understanding the reasons behind site-specific differences in melanoma rates should help unravel some of inconsistent findings reported from epidemiological studies and provide basis for informed preventive activities. Although exposure to sunlight is generally accepted determine rate which melanocytes any particular anatomical site are transformed, there also likely be (within a host) constitutional (among hosts) susceptibility progress neoplasia. The contributions these competing causal factors (environmental, anatomical, genetic) development have not been collectively studied, yet this necessary if deeper understanding pathogenesis yield tangible public health benefits. Here, we review literature evidence heterogeneity present recent study Queensland, Australia.
