摘要: Visible light is thought to reset the Neurospora circadian clock by acting through heterodimers of WHITE COLLAR-1 and COLLAR-2 proteins induce transcription frequency gene. To characterize this photic entrainment we examined frq expression in constant light, under which condition mRNA protein gene were strongly induced. In continuous illumination FRQ accumulated a highly phosphorylated state similar that seen at subjective dusk, time step from darkness sets clock. Examination several wc-2 mutant alleles surprisingly revealed differential regulation when was compared between following pulse, (clock-driven expression). Construction null strain then demonstrated WC-2 absolutely required for both clock-driven expression, contrast previous expectations based on presumptive nulls containing altered Zn-finger function. Additionally, found signal transduction differs other light-regulated genes. Thus light-driven differentially regulated by, but dependent on, WC-2.
