摘要: This paper presents the study of how to accelerate CABAC encoding for emerging heterogeneous multimedia applications. The latest image and video compression standards such as JPEG2000 H.264 both have adopted context adaptive binary arithmetic coding achieve performance enhancement. However, requires high computing power. After investigating computational complexity coding, firstly, instruction level acceleration is elaborated. Secondly, a configurable accelerator in multiple proposed. Benchmarking implementation cost also addressed.
