摘要: We studied the effect of chronic aspirin ingestion on gastroduodenal epithelial proliferaton by feeding rats in drinking water. A control group received plain At end 4 wk, [3H]-thymidine was given intravenously to label proliferating cells, and were killed 1 h later. Sections fundus, antrum, proximal duodenum processed for light autoradiography. found that stimulated proliferation fundic mucosa but had no antrum. In duodenum, increased lowest four crypt-cell positions, which most likely indicates an increase stem-cell production. None tissues contained evidence inflammation or ulceration. The proliferative effects may help explain previously observed phenomenon mucosal adaptation rat after repeated exposure aspirin. Further, if human epithelium responds a similar manner chroriic exposure, part distribution aspirin-associated ulcers.
