摘要: Recognizing the imperiled status of biodiversity and its benefit to human well-being, world's governments committed in 2010 take effective urgent action halt loss through Convention on Biological Diversity's “Aichi Targets”. These targets, many conservation programs, require monitoring assess progress toward specific goals. However, comprehensive easily understood information trends at appropriate spatial scales is often not available policy makers, managers, scientists who it. We surveyed stakeholders three geographically diverse regions critical concern (the Tropical Andes, African Great Lakes, Greater Mekong) found high demand for indicator but uneven availability. To begin address this need, we present a “dashboard” – visualization indicators designed enable tracking performance data clear, user-friendly format. This builds previous, more conceptual, work create an operationalized online interface communicating multiple scales. structured dashboard around Pressure-State-Response-Benefit framework, selecting four measure pressure (deforestation rate), state species (Red List Index), response (protection key areas), benefits populations (freshwater provision). Disaggregating global data, maps graphics their component countries. visualizations provide charts showing regional national lay foundation web-enabled, interactive dashboard. new tool can help track Aichi Targets, support reporting, inform outcome-based policy-making protection natural resources.
