摘要: Multiple neurotransmitter systems are affected in senile dementia of the Alzheimer's type (SDAT). Among them, acetylcholine has been most studied. It is now well accepted that activity enzyme, choline acetyltransferase (ChAT) much decreased various brain regions including frontal and temporal cortices, hippocampus nucleus basalis Meynert (nbm) SDAT. Cortical M2-muscarinic nicotinic cholinergic receptors also but only a certain proportion (30-40%) SDAT patients. For other systems, it appears cortical serotonin (5-HT)-type 2 receptor binding sites This diminution 5-HT2 correlates with levels somatostatin-like immunoreactive materials found cortex somatostatin about one third Finally, neuropeptide Y distributed areas enriched cell bodies nerve fiber terminals would be interest to determine possible involvement this peptide Thus, multi-drug clinical trials should considered for treatment
