摘要: Growth hormone secretagogues (GHSs) are synthetically produced peptides and non-peptides that stimulate growth (GH) release by acting on one or more specific receptors. Treatment with GH itself is established in deficient children adults may also be useful frail, elderly adults, abdominally/viscerally obese subjects, patients congestive heart failure suffering from nitrogen-wasting catabolic disease. In these conditions, the newly developed class of orally-active GHSs attractive alternatives to sc. injections. This review focuses recently patented their claimed indications, however, other possible uses have been included.
