Colistin sulfate as a suitable substitute of thallium acetate in culture media intended for mycoplasma detection and culture.

摘要: Thallium acetate in concentrations of 500 to 1000 mg/l is tolerated the culture by most mollicutes orders Mycoplasmatales and Acholeplasmatales this reason it added media as a selective element for detection propagation mycoplasmas acholeplasmas. Because high toxicity thallium its accumulation environment, not biodegradable, an alternative was searched. The results analysis tests with nine mollicute species are presented here. It recommended replace formulations where used colistin sulfate proposed substitute.
