摘要: Kinases control virtually all aspects of biology. Forty-eight human proteins have a kinase-like domain that lacks at least one the conserved catalytic residues; these are therefore predicted to be inactive and been termed pseudokinases. Here, we describe exciting work suggesting pseudokinases, despite lacking ability phosphorylate substrates, still pivotal in regulating diverse cellular processes. We review evidence pseudokinase STRAD controls function tumour suppressor kinase LKB1 single amino acid substitution within tyrosine JAK2 leads several malignant myeloproliferative disorders. also discuss emerging functions other including HER3 (also called ErbB3), EphB6, CCK4 PTK7), KSR, Trb3, GCN2, TRRAP, ILK CASK.
