摘要: Larval agonistic displays are reported from Austrocnemis splendida, a small coenagrionid damselfly. Sixteen major were distinguished. The behaviour repertoire of A. splendida is contrasted with published information on other larvae, especially Agriocnemis pygmaea, putatively member the same subfamily. Marked differences in larval display between and pygmaea provide evidence against close relationship these species. No support found for including Agriocnemidinae. It postulated that Agriocnemidinae an artificial construct, its components linked through convergence form reduced wing structures very dragonflies.
