摘要: Abstract The behaviour of final-instar larvae the aquatic predator Pyrrhosoma nymphula (Odonata: Coenagrionidae) during laboratory-staged territorial interactions is described. Occupants, as distinct from intruders, won 72% encounters. occupants contests by intruders was more like that all than occupants. Contest outcome little affected either size differences between contestants or use Labial strike. duration not correlated with outcome, Winners and losers differed significantly in number acts used encounters (losers using acts), but intruders. also their behavioural Slow wave, Lateral display Lamellae swipe occupants, results are discussed terms asymmetric war attrition.
