摘要: Pavement smoothness has been recognized as one of the measures pavement performance. Several Long-Term Performance (LTPP) studies have addressed certain aspects smoothness, including roughness development, measurement methods, and modeling. To advance state practice knowledge a workshop on was held from August 26-28, 2001, in Irvine, California part National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) Project 20-51(01). Participants included individuals highway agencies, Federal Administration (FHWA), asphalt concrete portland cement paving industries, academia, consulting firms, research organizations. The began with series presentations that covered variety topics related to smoothness. These findings LTPP data analysis studies, equipment used for measuring FHWA survey practices, contractors' perspective agencies issues After presentations, participants reviewed, facilitated group discussions, subjects measurements, analysis, specifications use. Through these discussions consensus-building process, identified prioritized nine primary require concerted efforts advancement.
