摘要: The gas transport behaviors of O2, N2, CO2 and CH4 were investigated in mixed matrix membranes (MMMs) prepared from polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) filled with surface functionalized silica (SiO2) nanoparticles. SiO2 modification was performed through silanization using chlorodimethyl silane. FTIR confirmed the presence dimethyl silane on (Si-DMS) whereas elemental analysis showed 94.2% successful modification. Thermal gravimetric revealed improved thermal stabilities PDMS MMMs. Field emission scanning electron microscopy uniform distribution Si-DMS within membrane. effect permeabilities (P) contrast to Maxwell model prediction. Enhanced P values all gases MMMs (as compared pure PDMS) associated improvement diffusion coefficients (Dm) despite reduction solubility coefficients. increase Dm attributed higher free volumes However, slight declines (<8% selectivities observed. Overall, have performances due enhanced permeabilities.
