摘要: Elastic ..cap alpha..-scattering experiments have been performed on /sup 144/Sm and 208/Pb at E/sub b/MeV over the angular range 3/sup 0/ < or = theta/sub L/ 8/sup 0/. It is apparent that isoscalar giant resonance in these nuclei consists of least two broad components. The distribution for one component (/sup 144/SmEx approx. 12.4 MeV, 208/PbE/sub x/ 11.0 MeV) well described as E2, while other 144/SmE/sub 15.1 13.7 by an E0 excitation exhausting approximately 100% energy-weighted sum rule.
