摘要: Inflammatory mediators released as a result of smokeless tobacco (ST)-induced irritation may play role in the development oral mucosal lesions at habitual placement sites ST users. The present study examined levels interleukin-1 (IL-1) and prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) ST-induced compared these to mediator clinically normal mucosa. Soft tissue biopsies were obtained from white alveolar non-placement 18 Fifteen non-tobacco using subjects also provided biopsies. IL-1 PGE2 recovered specimens, determined by enzyme immunoassay.
