摘要: Purpose Observational studies have reported increased colon cancer recurrence and mortality in patients with states of hyperinsulinemia, including type 2 diabetes, obesity, sedentary lifestyle, high glycemic load diet. Nut intake has been associated a lower risk metabolic syndrome, insulin resistance. However, the effect nut on survival is not known. Patients Methods We conducted prospective, observational study 826 eligible stage III who dietary food frequency questionnaires while enrolled onto randomized adjuvant chemotherapy trial. Using Cox proportional hazards regression, we assessed associations mortality. Results After median follow-up 6.5 years, compared abstained from nuts, individuals consumed two or more servings nuts per week experienced an adjusted hazard ratio (HR) for disease-free 0.58 (95% CI, 0.37 to 0.92; Ptrend = .03) HR overall 0.43 0.25 0.74; .01). In subgroup analysis, apparent benefit was confined tree (HR survival, 0.54; 95% 0.34 0.85; .04; 0.47; 0.27 0.82; .04). The association total improved outcomes maintained across other known suspected factors Conclusion Diets higher consumption may be significantly reduced incidence death cancer.
