摘要: Tumors of the central nervous system (CNS) can be categorized as primary or secondary. Metastatic secondary tumors CNS are increasing in frequency, we better able to control local disease common human cancers, resulting longer life expectancy. Incidence also for reasons that currently unclear, with approximately 30,000 new cases diagnosed yearly North America, according Central Brain Tumor Registry United States 1998 (1). This represents about 4% all cancer-related deaths adults, and most pediatric cancer, second only leukemias. The types, location, molecular pathogenesis part different from those this article restricting its comments adult tumors. More than 50% arise glial cells (2,3), which further characterized their presumed cell origin, giving rise astrocytomas, oligodendroglioma, ependymomas, choroid plexus papillomas.
