摘要: Malignant lung lesions are associated with significant changes in leukocyte concentrations. However, overlap of values between normal subjects and patients cancer has limited the clinical utility this determination. To decrease overlap, 2,000 cells per differential determination were counted, replicate automated cell counts performed blood samples obtained on different mornings 7 9 A.M. Seventy-five who presented undiagnosed analyzed. Benign malignant could be accurately distinguished by either relative granulocyte or lymphocyte counts. With 65.5 percent granulocytes as cutoff, 86 (38 44) proved to have had higher values, 97 (30 31) benign lower values. Likewise, 28 lymphocytes 87 (39 94 (29 disease Relative monocyte not different. Absolute concentrations, although for each group, considerable thus poor discriminators. These data suggest that precise analytical techniques use concentrations can improve count a discriminator lesions.
