摘要: On-site sanitation facilities contribute to the majority of toilet in developing countries as full waterborne is not feasible or affordable. The characteristics faecal sludge vary greatly between different locations and types onsite at same time their understanding crucial for improvement existing management services. Pollution Research Group (PRG), within School Chemical Engineering University Kwa-Zulu Natal have been focussing on analysis from on-site sanitation, such urine diversion dehydration toilets, wet dry ventilated improved pit latrines household community levels unimproved latrines. This study was undertaken 2012 2014 focussed obtained Durban metro area South Africa. Sampling methods were developed applied depth pits each facility. followed PRG standard operation procedures properties as: moisture content, total solids, ash pH, chemical oxygen demand, density, nutrient contents thermal properties.
