摘要: Cross sections for formation of protonium (pp-bar) in low-energy collisions antiprotons with hydrogen atoms (H) and negative ions (H ) are calculated using the classical-trajectory Monte Carlo (CTMC) method. Full four-body dynamics is performed p-bar+H . Previously unpredicted differences between collisions, stemming from weakly bound electron H , exhibited. A maximum cross section nearly 2 AS found, smaller than previous theoretical estimates, but reaction window found to extend higher energies. The stripping also yields results agreement our three-body CTMC calculation a very recent experimental determination. implications these experiments corotating beams p-bar discussed.
