摘要: Background In 2013, the French Health Authority approved use of HIV self-tests in pharmacies for general public. This screening tool will allow an increase number screenings and a reduction delay between infection diagnosis, thus reducing risk further infections. We previously compared 5 HIV-self test candidates (4 oral fluid one whole blood) demonstrated that blood exhibited optimal level performance (sensitivity/specificity). studied practicability easy-to-use finger-stick self-test “autotest VIH®”, when used public. Methods Materials This multicenter cross-sectional study involved 411 participants from Parisian region (AIDES HF association) April July 2014 was divided into 2 separate studies: evaluating capability to obtain interpretable result using only information notice, second interpretation results, provided chart. Results A total consenting participants, 264 first 147 second, were included. All over 18 years age. In study, 99.2% correctly administered auto-test, 21.2% needed, upon their request, telephone assistance. Ninety-two percent responded easy/very easy perform, 93.5% did not find any difficulty obtaining sufficient good quantity blood. 98.1% interpreted results. The reading/interpretation errors concerned negative (2.1%) or indeterminate (3.3%) auto-tests. Conclusions The success rate handling this is very satisfactory, demonstrating its potential by public utility opportunities detect patients.
