摘要: Aims: To evaluate the diagnostic significance of anti-filamentous actin antibodies (A-FAA) assessed with a commercial ELISA in comparison immunofluorescence reactivity and patterns anti-smooth muscle (SMA); to correlate A-FAA positivity clinical, immunogenetic, laboratory, histological features patients autoimmune hepatitis type 1 (AIH-1). Methods: We studied 78 consecutive untreated AIH-1 160 controls: 22 2 (AIH-2), 51 C, 17 coeliac disease (CD), 20 primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC) 50 blood donors. SMA was evaluated by indirect (IIF) on frozen sections rat tissues, modified ELISA. Results: detected IIF 61 (78%) patients, whom 47 (60%) had SMA-T/G 14 (18%) SMA-V pattern. Of pathological controls, 32 (20%) pattern (25 AIH-2, PBC, 3 CD). were present 55 (70.5%; 46 SMA-T/G, 7 SMA-V, SMA-negative), 10 controls (6%), five two PBC one CD. The association between statistically significant (p Conclusion: strictly correlates is reliable operator independent assay for AIH-1. Detection A-FAA, even if devoid prognostic relevance, may be useful when interpretative doubts standard arise.
