摘要: Cryptococcus gattii, formerly known as neoformans var is an encapsulated yeast that causes disease in both immunocompetent and immunosuppressed individuals. The organism enters via the respiratory tract a spectrum of illness ranging from asymptomatic infection to severe illness, including pneumonia disseminated involving multiple sites, central nervous system, eyes, skin. We describe case 25-year-old man without prior medical history who presented with seizure was found have concurrent pulmonary central-nervoussystem mass lesions were due cryptococcal infection. This illustrates importance considering infectious such C. gattii differential diagnosis organ systems, regardless patient’s immune status.
