摘要: Single-mode lasers in the spectral region between 620 nm and 630 are still realized using complex laser systems, such as ring-dye or non-linear frequency shifted lasers, when used applications cooling of beryllium ions spectroscopy on rare earth elements. Direct emitting AlGaInP based diode offer a much simpler approach to this wavelength range, but so far lack suitable beam quality purity. Recently distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) ridge waveguide (RWL) were developed for 640 region. Building knowledge CAMFR simulations performed find grating periods duty cycles obtain emission wavelengths below nm. The itself was then introduced by stepper lithography reactive ion etching into structure. manufactured DBR-RWLs show at 628.5 626.5 temperature 15°C with threshold currents 150 mA. shows single-mode operation side mode suppression ratios > 20 dB. Two shorter packaged sealed TO-3 housings provide small-sized non-condensing environment temperatures down -25°C. When cooled internally about 0°C, an emitted power more than 50 mW measured 626.0 At point diffraction-limited single longitudinal observed that allowed heterodyne measurement where width 1 MHz obtained. These new have potential drastically miniaturize existing set-ups quantum information processing.
