摘要: The cadherins are homotypic adhesion proteins that important in cell sorting during organogenesis. Classical include several different types show tissue-specific expression. Cell lineage-specific expression of cadherin subtypes can differentiate morphologically similar but histogenetically distinct tumors. We examined by immunohistochemistry paraffin sections, the E- (epithelial), N- (neural), and P- (placental) 36 unusual tumors breast (22 medullary carcinomas, 5 metaplastic 2 carcinosarcomas, 4 phyllodes tumors, 3 periductal stromal tumors). All carcinomas stain with E-cadherin 22 metaplastic). also stained epithelial component not sarcomatous areas cases carcinosarcomas. was detected (phyllodes, tumor). N-cadherin most frequently expressed sarcomatoid (5 5), variably other including area carcinosarcoma (1 2), 6 carcinomas. P-cadherin identified (20 22), proliferating stroma benign epithelium stromal, (0 4). co-expressed all classical cadherins. Our results these have unique patterns suggesting histogenetic origin or lines differentiation. profiles may be useful for classification diagnosis.
