摘要: Background: Illness severity scores are increasingly used for risk adjustment in clinical research and quality assessment. Recently, a simplified version of the score neonatal acute physiology (SNAPPE-II) revised index babies (CRIB-II) have been published. Aim: To compare discriminatory ability goodness fit CRIB, CRIB-II, SNAPPE-II cohort neonates Methods: Data from 720 VLBWI, admitted to 12 units Lombardy (Northern Italy) participating regional network, were analysed. The was assessed measuring area under receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC). Outcome measure in-hospital death. Results: CRIB CRIB-II showed greater discrimination than (AUC 0.90 0.91 v 0.84, p  Conclusions: had SNAPPE-II. Risk using all is imperfect, other perinatal factors significantly influence VLBWI survival. seems be less confounded by these factors.
