摘要: Background: Male infertility is a common problem and needs minimally invasive method to arrive at the appropriate diagnosis. Alternative open testicular biopsy fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) of testis being increasingly used as evaluating function. Aim: To determine causes azoospermia evaluate efficacy FNAC as compared in azoosparmic men by correlating diagnosis from with histology. Patients Methods: We prospectively studied 67 consecutive infertile patients who referred andrology department Al-Yarmouk Teaching hospital, Baghdad, Iraq between (January 2010-January 2014). All were azoospermic. They underwent bilateral for cytological evaluation well histopathological correlation. Results: The morphological revealed normal spermatogenesis 12 (17.9%), hyposparmatogenesis 4 (5.9%), spermatogenic arrest 39 (58.2%), Sertoli cell only 7 (10.4%), complete tubular hyalinization 5 (7.4%). Good correlation 2 methods was found 120 (91.6%) testes which identical right left testis. Discrepancies histology mainly result insufficient scanty smears. Conclusion: Testicular simple alternative investigation assessment azoospermia.
