摘要: Spatial and temporal patterns in catch rates allocation of fishing effort were analysed for the coastal fishery Spermonde Archipelago, Indonesia, to assess whether fishermen can optimise their strategy from information, or they fish under great uncertainty merely minimise risks. On average 517 units operated 2800 km2 area, catching 21 t day-1. Major gear categories hook line (59␘f total 5␘f catch), lift nets (16␘f 70␘f catch). The size individual resource spaces varied with type was smaller unfavourable weather conditions. Although spatial at scale whole archipelago evident, could not differentiate between locations, as variance within high relative contrasts patterns. aggregated distribution must be explained by factors such small operations, rather than abundance.
