摘要: Abstract Many countries have put in place protection of cold water coral (CWC) reef areas relation to fishing, especially bottom trawling. As little has been known about the ecosystem function CWC, largely driven by existence values such as uniqueness/rareness, charisma and low resistance from fishermen due limited effects upon fisheries. This paper identifies services underlining supporting that may determine flow more direct provisioning, regulating cultural services. Current research points value CWC a habitat for commercially interesting species, which motivates management these resources include comprehensive set mechanisms, placing incentives encourage change gear trawling less destructive methods densely covered areas, possibly stronger focus on other benthic habitats are equally or valuable, sponges.
