摘要: Publisher Summary The chapter discusses changes in the function and structure of key brain areas. A discussion potential mechanisms that explain these phenomena is also presented, along with suggestions for future investigations. search organic differences between patients various functional somatic syndromes non-afflicted has led researchers to investigate central nervous system (CNS) as wellspring pathology. Most neuroimaging studies conducted date have demonstrated within CNS, whether at baseline or response stimulation. make both research clinical practice challenging endeavors many symptoms are multidimensional thus nonspecific. With regard enhanced nociception, perfusion fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS) suggested subcortical involvement (i.e., thalamus elements basal ganglia), whereas using sensory stimulation differential activation cognitive centers FMS irritable bowel (IBS).
