摘要: Abstract For 3 years a filtration system for the isolation of "new" campylobacter was included in culture protocol 15 185 stool specimens. "C upsallensis" isolated 99 patients, C jejuni subsp doylei 4, and hyointestinalis 2. upsaliensis" only organism 83 patients. Clinical information available 77 out these 92% patients had diarrhoea; vomiting fever were rare (14% 7%, respectively); onset mostly sudden; symptoms usually lasted less than week. Gross or occult blood present quarter cases neutrophils detected faecal smears about fifth. may be an unrecognised frequent cause diarrhoea man, selective media should combined with non-selective systems.
