摘要: The antimicrobial and anticariogenic properties of a copper varnish (experimental mixture Doc's Best Red Copper cement Copalite varnish, Cooley Cooley, Ltd, Houston, TX, USA: designated in this study as "Copper Seal") on the root surface were evaluated an vitro microbial caries model. Fifty-six human specimens prepared from anterior teeth randomly divided into four groups: Groups 1 3-Copper Seal; Group 2-chlorhexidine positive control (Cervitec, Ivolcar Vivadent, Schaan, Liechtenstein) 4-a negative that received no treatment. varnishes painted 1, 2 3, then visually removed after 24 hours 1. demineralized model for five days. Plaque was collected to obtain bacterial colonization numbers, sectioned analyzed lesion extent using Confocal Laser Scanning microscopy. There significant differences (p>0.05) among groups terms count. Regarding development, group with (Group 1) non-treated 4) had significantly greater total area lesions fluorescence than without removal 3) chlorhexidine 2). Therefore, it concluded have effects surfaces, tested
