Continuous Silica Coatings on Glass Fibers via Bioinspired Approaches

摘要: Simple methods for producing continuous inorganic coatings on fibers have application in multiple technologies. The of bioinspired strategies the formation particulate materials has been widely investigated and provides routes to under environmentally benign conditions. In this work, we describe stable glass via polymerization silica presence biopolymers. both organic was X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, attenuated total reflection Fourier transform infrared scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive analysis. simple route presented herein could be interesting development functional hybrid fibrous suitable catalytic sensor applications, given homogeneous nature films conditions employed film formation.
