摘要: The introduction of software defined networking (SDN) has created an opportunity for file access services to get a view the underlying network and further optimize large data transfers. This is still unexplored while amount that needs be transferred growing. Data transfers are also becoming more frequent as result interdisciplinary collaborations nature research infrastructures. To address larger transfers, we propose approach which enables use SDN. We extend developed in our earlier work by including resources provisioning A novel SDN-aware transfer mechanism prototyped improving performance reliability on infrastructure equipped with programmable switches. Our results show I/O data-intensive scientific workflows benefit from services. Software unprecedented opportunities efficient transfers. We present observable controllable model multiple sources. We develop implement two algorithms take advantage programmability network. We introduce architecture transparent & adaptive enable full exploitation infrastructures. We assess improvement rates resulting SDN-enabling Distributed File Access Services (DFAS).
