摘要: In October 1937 one of my patients entered the Samuel Merritt Hospital in Oakland labor at term. She was a healthy normal woman excellent physical condition, looking forward eagerly and happily to birth her first child. had an ample pelvis, presentation normal, she assured with confidence that before long dreams would be realized. Dilatation progressed normally, eventually head bulging perineum. The patient given gas anesthesia for low forceps extraction. During course gagged vomited became very cyanotic. Respiration ceased.
