摘要: Contamination of shooting range soils from the use Pb bullets is under increasing scrutiny. Past research on contamination ranges has focused weathering reactions in soil. The objective this study was to determine significance abrasion contributing soil contamination. This accomplished by firing a known mass into sand and analyzing for total after removing bullets, through field sampling newly opened range, laboratory study. Forty-one mg were abraded per bullet as it passed sand, which accounted 1.5% being physically removed. At that had been open 3 months, highest concentration pistol berm 193 mg/kg at 0.5 m height, rifle 1142 1.0 height. Most experiment well collected SPLP-Pb > 15 t-Lg/I (Synthetic Precipitation Leaching Procedure). Typically, greater than range. Based study, virtually all metallic converted hydrocerussite (Pb3(C03) 2(OH)2), lesser extent cerussite (PbC03 ) massicot (PbO) within one week.
