摘要: The cytotoxic effects of sodium selenite on developing tadpoles (Xenopus laevis) were examined by scanning, light, and electron microscopy. Selenium exposure resulted in disorganization, vacuolization, swelling the outer layer epithelial cells tadpole epidermis. Examination muscle somites revealed myofibril disorganization cell degeneration. Mitochondria both swollen showed loss cristae. It is likely that sublethal exposures to selenium compounds result cellular damage which could affect motility, thus survival, over longer periods time.
