摘要: Spliced leader (SL) trans-splicing has recently been shown to be a common mRNA processing mechanism in dinoflagellates, which short (22-nt) sequence, DCCGUAGCCAUUUUGGCUCAAG (D = U, A, or G), is transplanted from the 5′-end of small non-coding RNA (SL RNA) 5′ end molecules. The widespread existence dinoflagellates demonstrated by detection this SL (DinoSL) wide phylogenetic range dinoflagellates. Furthermore, presence DinoSL transcripts highly diverse groups nuclear-encoded genes led us postulate that universal dinoflagellate nuclear genome. However, some observations inconsistent postulation have reported, exemplified recent article reporting apparent absence Amphidinium carterae. Absence these gene would important implication on regulation and utility as dinoflagellate-specific primer study transcriptomics. In study, we re-examined found all them actually contained DinoSL. Therefore, results date are consistent our initial occurs mRNAs.
