摘要: The effect of a press-fit and cemented titanium alloy endoprosthesis on the measurement bone mineral density (BMD) proximal femur in canine model with dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA) was determined. Seven regions interest, corresponding to zones 1-7 according Gruen et al., were measured. Eight unpaired femora scanned DXA before implantation (five separate scans per femur), after press-fitting femoral component femur); cementing same femur). When press-fit, BMD five seven increased significantly (range, 2.7-23.1%; mean, 11.2%), although mean precision error this not altered (before implantation, 1.1%; 1.8%). Cementing implant caused variable BMD, resulting decrease distal where cortical relatively thin compared cement mantle (regions 3, 4, 5) an increase other regions. 7.2% 1.1-12.6%).
