摘要: Epigenetic mechanisms, including DNA methylation, that underlie neuropsychiatric conditions have become a promising area of research. Most commonly used sources in such studies are peripheral (whole) blood (WB), saliva (SL), and lymphoblastoid cell lines (LCLs); thus, the question consistency methylation patterns those cells is particular interest. To investigate this we performed comparative analyses WB, SL, LCLs derived from same individuals, using Illumina HumanMethylation27 BeadChip arrays. Our results showed SL relatively consistent with whereas similarly distinct both WB SL. The indicated due to multiple random directed changes throughout culturing, not reliable source for epigenetic should be caution when investigating mechanisms underlying biological processes.
