摘要: Context: Cisplatin (CP), a broadly used anticancer drug, is widely known to induce acute renal failure as result of tubular injury.Objective: In this study, the effect N-acetyl cysteine (NAC) or taurine (TAU) for protection against CP-induced nephrotoxicity was investigated.Materials and methods: A single dose CP 1 mg/kg b.wt. 4 days given IP rats, 10 rest, then repeated other days. After administration, NAC TAU in 50 mg/kg 3 times weekly 8 weeks.Results: reflected high values blood urea creatinine levels. addition, significant increase β2-MG N-acetyl-β-glucosaminidase enzymes exhibited strong correlation with histology scores overall proximal tubule damage compared normal control values.
