Inhibition of inflammatory responses by epitaondiol and other marine natural products

摘要: The marine metabolites pacifenol, stypotriol triacetate and epitaondiol were tested for their effects on a number of inflammatory responses. Epitaondiol exhibited potent topical anti-inflammatory activity related to inhibition leukocyte accumulation. other compounds showed lower potency, similar that indomethacin. None the affected superoxide generation by human neutrophils but pacifenol effectively inhibited degranulation response. This compound decreased release eicosanoids with higher potency cyclo-oxygenase pathway. Only recombinant synovial phospholipase A2 in concentration-dependent manner.
