Socio-psychological problems of Patients with late adolescent onset type 1 diabetes : analysis by qualitative research

摘要: Purpose To identify the serious emotional impacts as socio-psychological problems encountered by patients with late adolescent onset type 1 diabetes since their disease onset. Subjects and methods Thirteen (aged 21-35 years) diabetes, age from 17 to 28, were interviewed. extract disturbing experiences content of interviews, a qualitative analysis was carried out. We categorized problems. Results Twenty-two items which posed obstacles control found. Problems particularly strong included fulminant crisis prior hospitalization; surprise shock themselves family members upon diagnosis; unacceptable feelings against insulin injections diabetes; difficulty anxiety over frequent unexpected occurrences hypoglycemia; noncompliance diet therapy; stress disclosing fiances parents; no understanding or knowledge about on part people around them; restricted range in occupation selection, travel daily life; existence stigma; place for performing injections; resistant negative others that they had acceptance using various coping behaviors. Conclusions These results suggest such we should seek more effective sort intervention improve quality life (QOL).
