摘要: The present invention provides two novel polypeptides, referred to as the "N" and "C" fragments of hedgehog, or N-terminal C-terminal fragments, respectively, which are derived after specific cleavage at a G.sup.↓ CF site recognized by autoproteolytic domain in native protein. Also included sterol-modified hedgehog polypeptides functional thereof. Methods identifying compositions affect activity based on inhibition cholesterol modification protein described.
