摘要: The ancient disease of leprosy can cause severe disability and disfigurement is still a major health concern in many parts the world. Only subset those individuals exposed to pathogen will go on develop clinical there broad spectrum amongst sufferers. outcome infection part due host genes that influence control initial host's immune response infection. Identification susceptibility/resistance enable greater understanding pathogenesis. In turn, this should facilitate development more effective therapeutics vaccines. So far at least dozen have been implicated susceptibility genome-wide linkage study has lead identification one positional candidate. These findings are reviewed here.
