摘要: Abstract A method of observing the preferential adsorption solute or solvent onto a polymer surface by liquid chromatography is illustrated, and results are discussed in relation to separation reverse osmosis membrane fouling. This shows existence preferentially adsorbed water layer at polymer-solution interface, where its amount thickness depend on material. The data undissociated organic solutes indicate that cellulosic materials intrinsically less susceptible fouling such than synthetic materials. It also shown steric repulsion involved solute's distribution between interfacial phase bulk not sufficient describe transport through membrane, an additional effect associated with frictional force working molecule pore has be considered.
