摘要: Abstract Residue levels of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and 1,1,1-trichloro-2,2-bis[p-chlorophenyl]ethane (DDT) were determined from liver samples ringed seals (Phoca hispida) the Baltic Sea Svalbard, grey (Halichoerus grypus) Sable Island in Canada. Both seal populations showed clearly higher average sum PCB (SPCB) DDT (SDDT) than reference populations. Among seals, SPCB twice as high SDDT levels, both contaminants seals. A difference gender was observed only population, which males a level contamination females. reduction to lower extent can be since peak contaminant during 1970s. The decrease has been more rapid are still enough cause threat their well being. trace elements mercury, cadmium, lead selenium liver, kidney muscle Island. Only cadmium geographic being Sea.
