Modifications of plasma 5-HT concentrations during the allergic bronchoconstriction in guinea pigs

摘要: ABSTRACTSeveral contractile mediators involved in the antigen-induced airway obstruction have been identified, but role of 5-HT (5-hydroxytryptamine or serotonin) has scantily investigated. In this work, potential allergic bronchoconstriction was evaluated through a pharmacological approach and plasma measurement blood samples from right left ventricles anesthetized guinea-pigs. Intravenous caused dose-dependent increase lung resistance anesthetized, nonsensitized guinea pigs. Likewise, sensitized animals antigenic challenge with ovalbumin also transient (356 ± 60% basal value), which largely inhibited by blockade serotonergic receptors methiothepin plus tropisetron (134 10%, P = .007).
