Interpenetrating polymer networks from triglyceride oils containing special functional groups: A brief review1

摘要: Although most triglyceride oils contain only double bond functionality, a few such as castor oil, vernonia lesquerella etc., other functional groups. These groups include hydroxy and epoxy groups, permitting the easy formation of polyesters and/or polyurethanes. In addition to natural epoxy-bearing oils, functionality in ordinary can be epoxidized. When these are polymerized form or polyurethanes presence polystyrene synthesize interpenetrating polymer networks (IPN), new class tough plastics is formed.
