摘要: Vernonia galamensis, the plant which produces vernonia oil, is at a developmental stage in several countries. oil natural epoxidized vegetable containing three epoxy rings and carbon-carbon double bonds. It has advantages over other oils produced industrially appears to be very attractive raw material for large volume industrial applications. First, characterized by low viscosity (100 cps 85°F) m.p. of about 36°F, with potential as reactive diluent high solids alkyd, epoxy, ester coating formulations replacing conventional solvents. Second, can simultaneously improve two major disadvantages commercial resins: toughness water absorption. Epoxy resins based on are elastomers room temperature glass transition temperature. Homogeneous mixtures resin, diamine, form thermosets consisting rigid matrix randomly distributed small rubbery “vernonia” spherical particles dissipate part impact energy. Finally, low-cost substitute soybean plasticizer stabilizer poly(vinyl chloride).
